Mid-century modern, reimagined: MYD project update
MYD's mid-century modern renovation and addition in Fairhills represents a contemporary take on the iconic architecture of A. Quincy Jones and Frederick Emmons at this small Eichler development in Orange County.
Exterior design development renderings convey a material palette and minimalist massing that celebrates the original design intent of the 1964 structure.
A carefully expanded building footprint allows for increased square footage, an extended courtyard and two-car garage, while the updated facade, entry and approach serve to engage and enhance the streetscape.
At the courtyard, extensive glazing, thoughtful material applications, and sliding door systems diffuse the boundaries between indoors and out.
