Light at Sensorio: Immersive Art in Paso Robles
Located just north of San Luis Obispo, artist Bruce Munro’s recently reopened outdoor installation features a blanket of light created by thousands of illuminated spheres at a beautiful 15-acre site in Paso Robles.
For our visit to Sensorio, we arrived just before sunset and had the opportunity to view the Central California landscape come to life as dusk turned to night and the solar-powered fiber optic globes began to glow.
Subtly changing color patterns create an undulating effect as one moves through the expansive installation, providing for an immersive experience that highlights the intersection of the natural environment and contemporary art.
An additional exhibition ‘light towers’ reflects the local wine industry through the reuse of 17,000 wine bottles to create dozens of cylindrical forms that softly glow and change color to music as visitors walk among them.
Open to guests through the end of September, this distinctive work is definitely worth a visit- find more details and exhibition information at Sensorio.
