Happy anniversary, Charles + Ray...

Posted on by Lauren Moss

This week marks the anniversary of one of the most famous couples in modern design whose work continues to be a source of inspiration today- Charles and Ray Eames.

Married on June 20th, 1941, the pair had an innovative and multidisciplinary approach to their shared endeavors, with a resulting body of work ranging from films and world's fair pavilions, to developments in manufacturing and furniture production. This exploratory, hands-on approach continues to impact and influence architects and designers today, and our partnership here at MYD studio is no exception.

The following photos of correspondence, drawings and notes offer a more intimate look at the husband and wife team.

http://firstrunfeatures.com/eamesdvd.html The husband-and-wife team of Charles and Ray Eames are widely regarded as America's most important designers. Perhaps best remembered for their mid-century plywood and fiberglass furniture, the Eames Office also created a mind-bending variety of other products, from splints for wounded military during World War II, to photography, interiors, multi-media exhibits, graphics, games, films and toys.
