Design Development: Huntington Harbour Mid-Century
Our mid-century modern renovation in Huntington Harbour is progressing through design development, and with drawings under review at the city, we look forward to seeing this unique home move closer to realization.
As seen in these progress drawings, the updated architecture celebrates the minimalist mid-century aesthetic of the existing two-level home, while creating a contemporary, light-filled space at the interior.
New elevations anticipate a clean, modernist massing, softened by textural stone cladding.
Within the freestanding concrete walls of the entry courtyard, the opacity of the masonry gives way to full-height windows with views to an interior gallery hall, leading visitors towards a dramatic entry at the open living area.
Maximizing the singular characteristics of the location, expansive windows and sliding door systems provide strong connections to the water, while generous outdoor living areas provide ample room for outdoor cooking, entertaining and dining.
More updates and design details to come as work on this custom home progresses- in the meanwhile, revisit early schematic sketches at a previous post, or stop by our On the Boards gallery to see more from the studio.
