Under Construction in Niguel West...

MYD’s latest mid-century addition and renovation in the small modernist community of Niguel West is in construction, and with demolition underway, new photos from the site hint at the potential of the original mid-1960s structure…

For our redesign, coastal and hillside views will be featured via dual sliding glass door systems that provide visual and physical access to the front deck and rear landscape.

To further underscore this integration of interior and exterior and accentuate the sense of spatial volume, existing interior soffits and columns will also be removed, creating clean lines that highlight the interior architecture, classic mid-century clerestory windows and vaulted ceiling.

The original fireplace structure will continue to asymmetrically anchor the living space, with contemporary updates the the hearth design, finishes, and detailing.

New square footage is located at the rear and side of the split-level home to maintain the authentic mid-century massing of the original design, while providing for an expanded, relocated master suite, as well as full laundry, bathroom, pantry and storage.
