A Contemporary Update for a Mid-Century Exterior: Laguna Niguel Construction
Our project site in Laguna Niguel has seen quite a bit of progress since a previous construction update.
Recent photos from the site offer a preview of the new exterior design- one that maintains the original mid century concept, while incorporating several key changes to create and define the building's massing, introduce new materials, and utilize contemporary detailing.
A new metal and glass garage door, along with a new linear window at the other side of the entry, balances the front elevation, while bringing light and air into the interior spaces.
Smooth stucco with cedar installed at the new soffit, or overhang, makes for clean and complementary exterior finishes that add warmth to the metal and glass surfaces at the openings.
The classic mid-century entry courtyard will be accessed by a new wood slat entry, bringing the cedar material onto the vertical plane, a design detail incorporated throughout the design.
Keep an eye out for more images of the new cedar enclosure and custom pivot door, currently being installed this week.
Until then, view project renderings, as well as additional construction photos, at our project portfolio page.
