Sydney Opera House: Happy 40th to an Icon of Modernism

This month marks the 40th anniversary of the Sydney Opera House, Australia's architecturally and structurally innovative 1973 design by Danish architect Jørn Utzon.

We're celebrating the milestone by sharing a digital mapping projection from Vivid Sydney, an annual festival that transforms the city's waterfront and public spaces into dynamic and light-filled landscapes.
Architectural landmarks, including the Opera House, serve as the backdrop, or urban canvas, for beautiful interactive digital sculpture, captured beautifully in the timelapse video below.
