And the Pritzker goes to...
Congrats to architect Eduardo Souto de Moura, this year's Pritzker Prize Laureate- a distinction honoring the work of the world's most influential living architects.
Only the second Portugese architect selected for the award, Souto de Moura is a relatively new name to most of us; however, the departure from the expected on behalf of the jury is a refreshing one, and we look forward to learning more about Souto de Moura's work.
In the meanwhile, take a look at this cinematic interpretation of one of the architect's more recent projects, produced by Vitor Gabriel, a documentary filmmaker from Portugal.
This unique assemblage of still and moving photography featuring both interior and exterior spaces offers a creative, experiential, and well-composed glimpse into Casa das Historias (House of Stories), or the Paula Rego Museum, a project employing the reductionist formality and materiality associated with the architecture of Eduardo Souto de Moura.
To learn more about this project, visit the museum's official website.
Thanks for reading, and have a great week!
