Portfolio Update: San Clemente Modern Beach House
New Project Photos // Stop by our portfolio page to view recent imagery for this unique black and white beach house in San Clemente.
An addition and renovation to an existing property just blocks from the ocean, the new design provides for increased square footage at an open floor plan, with the addition of a second story and roof deck above.
The architectural aesthetic reflects a contemporary update and new identity for the original split level coastal home, with articulated massing that steps down along the street frontage to minimize the overall height while still allowing for privacy at the elevated outdoor gathering spaces.
Native landscaping, drought tolerant plantings and fruit trees frame and soften the black and white structure, anchored by a cascading staircase that leads from the cedar-clad entry to the street and garage level below.
At the interior, extensive glazing, vaulted ceilings and bifolding doors allow for natural light at the generous open floor plan, while pattern, color and handcrafted textures reflect the owners’ creativity and style.
